As Averett departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Averett may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Averett leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Anne Harris Witcher; and his brother William "W. H." Henry Witcher. He is survived by: his sons, Vincent Averett Witcher of Sutherlin, VA and Patrick Harris Witcher of Sutherlin, VA; and his sister Joann Poole (Don) of Ringgold, VA.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
