It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Maske Van Deventer (Danville, Virginia), born in Menominee, Michigan, who passed away on December 11, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Irene Zettel Maske and Robert Herman Maske; her husband Stanley Cyrus Van Deventer; her son Mark Van Deventer; and her brothers, Richard and David Maske.
She is survived by: her children, Cathy Scolpini (Tommy) of Danville, VA, Karen Baker (Kurt) of Tucson, AZ, Craig Van Deventer (Sheila) of Greensboro, NC and Steve Van Deventer (Stephanie) of Augusta, GA; her grandchildren, Emily S. Ragsdale (Josh), Ashleigh Dixon (David), Mandy Work-Wetzel (Mark), Brandon Work, Jessica Nelson (Evan), Stacey Boswell (Donnie), Bradley Van Deventer, Lance Spivey (April), Morgan Ritchie (Ken), Michael Van Deventer (Heather), Matthew Van Deventer, Melissa Morris (B. A.) and Megan Diehl (Kealan); and her caregivers, Melissa, Cortney Stamps and Crystal Gayle. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
