Carolyn Barker Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carolyn Barker (Danville, Virginia), who passed away on January 23, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father Jessie Wilson Wood; her husband Maurice Lee Barker Sr.; and her son Maurice Lee Barker Jr.. She is survived by: her daughter Jan Barker Sylvester (William Arthur Sylvester) of Cary, NC; her daughter-in-law Sheila Smith Barker of Milton, NC; her brothers, Jesse Wayne Wood and Larry Michael Wood (Stephana) of Yanceyville, NC; and her grandchildren, Samuel Lee Barker (Dianna) of Yanceyville, NC, William Maurice Barker (Kimberly) of Sutherlin, VA, Richard Galen Sylvester (Jessica) of Fuquay Varina, NC and Kathryn Leigh Sylvester of Winston-Salem, NC. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
