He was predeceased by: his parents, Silas Edward Garrett and Mary Heath Garrett of Callands, VA.; and his sister Phyllis G. Schiebel. He is survived by: his significant other Irene Eanes Garrett; his children, Charles Douglas Garrett, Janice L. Garrett and Cynthia G. Artis; his grandchildren, Holden Artis, Logan Artis, Alan Garrett and Corey Garrett; his great grandchildren, Alexander Garrett and Gabriel Garrett; and his sister Barbara G. Ciotti.
