He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Bennett and Sina Younger Bennett; his daughter Nina DeFran Lewis; and his siblings, Clara Parker, Emma Jean Parker, Vera Anderson, Lorraine "Rena" Anderson, Percy Bennett, Hubert Bennett and Willie Bennett.
He is survived by: his spouse Gurdine Vaden Bennett; his children, Sophia McKenzie of Woodbridge, VA, Subrena Fitzgerald (Jeffrey) of Danville, VA, Victoria Bennett of Washington, DC and Bruce Fitzgerald of Lynchburg, VA; and his siblings, Bernice Younger of Chatham, VA, Isabelle Anderson of Chatham, VA, Elnora "Peggy" Fitzgerald of Washington, DC, Hugh Bennett Blairs (Elaine) and John "Ronnie" Bennett of Thornburg, VA. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
