He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Gollard McGuire and Virgie Davis McGuire; and his siblings, Wayne McGuire (Millie), Rosa Mae McGuire and Hilda Bivens.

He is survived by: his son Todd McGuire (Day); his siblings, Bobby McGuire, David McGuire (Pam), Darlene Worley (Danny) and Donna Carter (Floyd); and his pet Roxie. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
