He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Lee Bernard and Annie Lancaster Bernard; and his brothers, James E. Bernard and Micheal T. Bernard. He is survived by: his wife Susan Carter Bernard; his sister Jo Ann Chattin (Dan); and his siblings-in-law, Judy Bernard, Ann Bernard and Dennis Carter (Lois). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
