With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David Ray Hyde Sr. (Danville, Virginia), born in Portsmouth, Virginia, who passed away on November 7, 2025 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As David departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved David. Though David may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He is survived by: his sons, Preston Hyde (Jordan) of Danville, VA, Prentiss Hyde (Geri Anne) of Chesterfield, VA and David Ray Hyde Jr. (Madlene) of Dinwiddie, VA; his grandchildren, Austyn Hyde, Connor Hyde, Kipp Hyde and Rosemary Hyde; and his close friend Albert Payne.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to First Presbyterian Church of Danville, VA.
