He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Lovelace and Sallie Valentine; his wife Ruth Odella Waller Valentine; and his son Jerry Wayne Valentine. He is survived by: his children, Inez Banks Dubose (Thomas) of Mitchellville, MD, Joyce Chandler of Danville, VA, Gayle Lavern Jones (Phillip) of Danville, VA, Danny Valentine of Danville, VA, Kenneth E. Valentine of Blairs, VA and James Childress of Blairs, VA; and his sisters, Mayola Slade of Pelham, NC, Joyce Lockhart (Arthur) of Newport News, VA and Charlene Lovelace of Newport News, VA. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
