He was predeceased by: his parents, Nancy Lee Hayden Owen and Alvin Thomas Owen; and his wife Linda Lou Morgan Owen. He is survived by: his children, Chrystal Owen Mayhew (Steve), Elizabeth Owen Kirby (Kyle) and Donald Thomas Owen II (Donya); his sister Shelby Martin; his grandchildren, Lacey Kirby (Paul Evans), Alaina Kirby, Caroline Kirby, Kyle Kirby IV, Addison Owen, Hannah Mayhew and Sydney Owen; his in-laws, Gene Morgan, Ricky Morgan and Pam Morgan; and his pet Mister. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Norris Funeral Services & Crematory - Mount Hermon Chapel (3995 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, VA 24540). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
