It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Powell Ferguson of Danville, Virginia, who passed away on November 19, 2022, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Smith Powell and Rebecca Johnson Powell; her husband Rev. Isaac Paul Ferguson; her son Charles Thomas Ferguson (Jere A. Ferguson); and her siblings, Russell D. Powell and Florence P. Deese.
She is survived by: her daughter Sarah F. Pressley (Michael Pressley); her siblings, Clyde S. Powell, Roy H. Powell, C. Morris Powell, Ruth P. Burnett, Jane P. Dalton and Sue P. Boscarino; her grandson Charles "Chuck" Thomas Ferguson (Marcey Ferguson) of Creedmoore, NC; her sister Leah P. McCullar (W. Lloyd McCullar) of Advance, NC; her great grandchildren, Camden Ferguson, Brooks Ferguson, Isaac McCullar, Emma McCullar, Caleb McCullar, Noah McCullar and Luke McCullar; her grandchild Kelley P. Haley (Tyler Haley) of Ringgold, VA; and her great grandchildren, Dylan Haley, Aaron Haley and Kendall Haley.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to the Schoolfield Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1380 West Main Street, Danville, VA 24541.
