She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Petrose Dalton and Pearl Vassar Dalton; her husband Sam Neal Farthing, Sr.; and her daughter Brenda Kay Oakes. She is survived by: her son Sam N. "Sammy" Farthing, Jr. (Teresa Turner) of Danville, VA.; her grandchildren, James Glenn Chesson, II (Rebecca), Sherri Nicole Riley and Kevin Wayne Snead (Amy); her great grandchildren, Brandon Riley, Sean Riley, James Chesson, III, Danielle Snead and Gavin Snead; her sister-in-law Ann Dalton; and her close friends, Gary, Gail Kilby and Margaret Hidgen.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorial donations be made to Afton Road Primitive Baptist Church, Mt Hermon Vol.
