He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Witcher Prunty and John Henry Prunty; his wife Patsy Wilson Prunty; his daughter Melissa Hairston; his siblings, James Prunty, Willie Prunty, Irvin Prunty, Thurman Prunty, Louise Prunty and Margaret Day; and his grandchildren, Kavodra, Marquis, LaShawn and Brence.
He is survived by: his children, Ronnie Prunty of Richmond, VA., Brenda Prunty of Chatham, VA., Kitty Prunty of Danville, VA., Priscilla Prunty of Danville, VA. and Doretha Smith (Phelarn) of Richmond, VA.; his sisters, Barbara Wilson of Dry Fork, VA. and Frances Adkins of Dry Fork, VA.; and his grandchildren, Michelle, Amber, Taneka, Renida, Markquez, Mario, Shekita, Charlita, Jasmine, Terrance, Jeremy, Angie, Monica, Monique, Shiwann and Shanane. He is also survived by great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
