She was predeceased by: her parents, Barbara Harris and Clyde Harris; her sisters, Pearlie May Reynolds, Ida Dean Whitlow, Alma Gay Stultz and Dovalee Shilling; her former husband V. Paul Barbour, Jr.; and her granddaughter Kaitlyn Faith Thorne.
She is survived by: her spouse Bicky Mayhew; her daughters, Kirin Barbour Whitehead (Brian) and Lyndsay Barbour Thorne (Robert); and her grandchildren, Abigail Hudson Whitehead, Wesley Paul Thorne and Dominic Paul Whitehead.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MCV Foundation in support of the Hume-Lee Transplant Center, noting on the check's memo line that the gift is in memory of Gail Mayhew, and mailed to VCU Gifts & Records, Box 843042, Richmond, VA, 23284-3042.
