We are sad to announce that, on May 1, 2026, at the age of 77, Gloria Lewis Thompson of Danville, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Wesley Lewis and Lena Paige Lewis; and her brothers, Harry Lewis, Larry Lewis, Joe Lewis, Freddie Lewis, Robert Lewis and Rickey Lewis.
She is survived by: her children, Felicia Thompson of Columbia, MD, Kelvin Thompson of Danville, VA and Ezell Thompson, Jr. of Greensboro, NC; and her sisters, Vickey Slade (Ridge St) of Danville, VA, Barbara Lewis of Greensboro, NC and Mary Bagley Wolfe of Hephzibah, GA. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 5th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 635 N Ridge St, Danville, VA 24541. Viewing was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, May 7th 2027 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home (707 Wilson St, Danville, VA 24541). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Christ Temple Apostolic Church (180 Kentuck Rd, Danville, VA 24541).
