We announce the death of Hazel Garland of Danville, Virginia, who passed away on June 3, 2026, at the age of 76. Hazel will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Wilson and Stella Farmer Wilson; her husband Matthew Garland Jr.; and her siblings, Nilen Gunn, Ernest Wilson, Calvin Wilson, Edward Wilson, Robert Wilson and Wallace Wilson.

She is survived by: her children, Toni Wilson, Tracy Wilson, Sarah Garland, Patrick Wilson and Dejon Garland; her grandchildren, Shandon Wilson, Sheridan Wilson, Caevon Wilson, Kai Garland and Nevaeh Garland; her great grandchildren, Shannon Wilson, Shandon Wilson Jr. and Emery Wilson; and her sisters, Thelma Robinson, Mary Mabin and Fannie Miles. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
