She was predeceased by: her parents, Austin "A. D." Alderman and Ollie Ayers Alderman; her stepson Tim Medford; and her half-sister Joy Alderman. She is survived by: her husband Harold Dean Medford; her sons, Randy Wilkerson (Karin) and Steve Wilkerson (Tambra); her stepchildren, Dwayne Medford (Karen), Ricky Medford and Marisa Frazier; her brother Clyde Alderman (Patsy); and her grandchildren, Sarah (Eric), Lindsay (Brandon), William (Krysta), Whitney (Mike), Jessica (Justin) and Jade. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Willis Memorial Baptist Church (5212 Cascade Rd, Cascade, VA 24069) or God's Pit Crew (2499 N Main St, Danville, VA 24540).
