She was predeceased by : her parents, W. I. Powell and Stella May Davis Powell; her husband Sam East; and her sisters, Virginia Fuquay and Eunice Payne.
She is survived by : her daughter Jo Ann East Arnold; her grandchildren, J. J. and Angela Arnold; and her great grandchildren, Elijah and Samuel Arnold., and her brother Harry Powell of Asheville.
