It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James A. Rich III (Danville, Virginia), who passed away on January 25, 2022, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Rich, Jr. and Dollie McCubbins Rich. He is survived by: his wife Virginia "Ginny" Rich; his daughters, Ashley Hall (Tony) and Lauren Miller (Jason); his grandsons, Jay and Jackson Miller; his siblings, Debbie Smoak, Laurie Taylor (Allen) and Wade Rich (Brenda); his sister-in-law Sharon Gilbert Winstead (Charles); and his aunt Betty Galloway. He is also survived by nieces, nephew, cousins, extended family, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial to be made to God's Pit Crew or Bachelors Hall Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
