She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Barksdale and Ruth Hairston Barksdale; her spouse Cozell Cardwell; her grandson Messiah Hairston; and her siblings, Barbara Jean Tucker, William Barksdale and Stanley Callands.
She is survived by: her children, Telisha Barksdale, Bianca Barksdale, Shavondra Barksdale, Keiondra Barksdale and Leo Chandler; and her siblings, Jean Henderson, Clara Cobbs, Linda Clarke, Loretta Mclean and Larry Barksdale. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Services & Cremation (179 Piney Forest Rd, Danville, VA 24540). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the New Season Kingdom Church (151 Grant St, Danville, VA 24541). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at the Highland Bural Park.
