Joe Claude Meeks, age 81, of Danville, VA, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, at his residence.
Mr. Meeks was born on September 12, 1942, in Danville, VA, a son of the late Claude A. Meeks and Ethel Wilson Julian.
Mr. Meeks lived his life in Danville where he was employed with Dan River Mills as an electrician until his retirement. He was married to Connie Williams Meeks who survives of the residence.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Joel Meeks and life partner, Miranda Staton, Lisa Meeks McKinney and husband Wesley McKinney and Melissa Meeks Wolfe and husband William Wolfe; grandchildren, Joyce Wolfe, Allan McKinney and life partner Rachel Shelinsky, Austin McKinney and life partner Hannah Gatlin; great grandchildren, Ryder Joseph McKinney and Brodie Allan McKinney; sister, Ruby Meeks Sadler Bartee; brother-in-law, Steve Williams and life partner Melissa Trevillian and special friends, George and Robbie Frazier and Dalton Taylor.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Erna Mae Sadler; brother, Billy Meeks and great grandchild, Carson James McKinney.
Memorial services will be conducted at a later date at Swicegood Funeral Home. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence, 83 Ashlawn Dr. Danville, VA.
