He is survived by: his wife Martha Mitchell Gilbert; his children, Byrum Lee Gilbert (Fatima), John Anthony Gilbert (Zan) and Tara Gilbert Coles (Roger); his grandchildren, Myia Gilbert, Devin Gilbert, Malia Gilbert, Danielle Wallington, Jeremy Stokes, D'asia Holt and Kiara Holt; and his siblings, Mary Holmes, Rosa Cunningham, Reverend Major Gilbert (Brenda) and Benjamin Gilbert. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
