He was predeceased by: his mother Protinica Milka Paunovich; and his brothers, Dr. Božidar Paunovich and George Paunovich. He is also survived by eight nephews and nieces, seventeen great-nephews and nieces, and one great-great nephew.
He selflessly took care of his mother for several years until her death from Parkinson's in 1992.
