With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Richard Patterson of Danville, Virginia, who passed away on February 8, 2026 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sutton Patterson and Alma Grove Patterson; his brother Donald Sutton Patterson; and his nephew Donald Sutton Patterson, Jr. (Dick). He is survived by: his wife Anne Wayne Fuller Patterson; his children, John Richard Patterson, Jr. (Susan) of Charlotte and Meredith Anne Patterson Laufenberg (John) of Dallas, Texas.; his brother Scott Grove Patterson (Robin) of Easton, Maryland.; and his grandchildren, Matthew William Patterson, Daniel John Patterson, Elizabeth Laverne Patterson, Anna Rose Laufenberg and Jake Richard Laufenberg.
