He was predeceased by: his parents, Alberta Waller Goard and Benjamin Lee Goard; his brother Ben Goard; and his son-in-law Bryan Phelps. He is survived by: his wife Gail Parker Goard; his children, Tracy Phelps of Dry Fork, VA and Brian Pritchett (Cheryl) of Dry Fork, VA; his sister Mollie Huemoeller; his grandchildren, Tommie Jo, Brice Pritchett, Brandon Pritchett, Alena Phelps and Teagan Phelps; his great grandchildren, Grabriel "Gabe", Coleman, Baylor, Tatum and Brooklyn; and his pet Odie Lee.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Danville Memorial Gardens (4849 Riverside Dr, Danville, VA 24541).
