He was predeceased by: his father Elmer Junior Kirk. He is survived by: his mother Carol Cooney Kirk; his wife Michele Kirk; his children, Karolyn Kirk, Jennilee Katcher, Samantha Katcher and Brandon Kirk; and his sister Karen Fromme.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Norris Funeral Services & Crematory - West End Chapel (511 Church Ave, Danville, VA 24541). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
