She was predeceased by: her parents, Shickry S. Hagar and Dora B. Hagar; her husband George H. Shields, Jr.; and her brother Robert "Bob" Hagar. She is survived by: her daughters, Leah Karen Luper of Richmond and Elizabeth Shields Ateyeh of Austin, Texas; her grandchildren, Dr. Erin Leah Luper, Brenton Shields Luper (Joween), Courtney Shields Sutor (Austin) and Edward "Tripp" Charles Ateyeh III (Lauren); and her great grandchildren, Kinsley Albright and Aubrey Ateyeh.
