He was predeceased by: his parents, Joel Leonard Barber and Verna Inez Barker Barber; his spouse Gwyneth Hyler Barber; his daughter Denise B. Kennedy; and his sisters, Gertrude Kirks, Louise Lynch, Elizabeth Guill and Elsie Belcher.
He is survived by: his children, Wendy B. Dougherty (Jeff), Paige B. Davis (Aaron) and Braxton Barber (Shannon); and his grandchildren, Alyssa Dougherty, Carson Davis McKenna Barber (Samantha) and Joel Barber. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial donations be made to Vandola Baptist Church.
