With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lewis Gravely Jr. of Danville, Virginia, who passed away on April 19, 2023 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Gravely, Sr. and Nena Ruth Byrd Gravely; his wife Pauline Elizabeth Lewis Gravely; his daughter Cathy Congdon; and his siblings, June Simpson, Jean Fowler, Lance and Basil Gravely.
He is survived by: his daughter Carol G. Coleman (Dennis). He is also survived by six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Schoolfield Baptist Church or to a charity of your choice.
