She was predeceased by: her parents, Vertie Tucker Sparks and Thomas Richard Sparks; her siblings, Bill Sparks, Charlie Sparks and Margie Sparks Angell; and her grandmother Lois.
She is survived by: her husband Ray Herbert Hayes; and her children, Lori Lape (Nick) of Richmond, VA, Herby Hayes (Cindy) of Danville and Marcie Slayton (Keith) of Appomattox, VA.. She is also survived by eight Grandchildren and twelve Great- Grandchildren.
