She was predeceased by: her parents, Adam Edward Handy and Mary Elizabeth Foley Handy; her husband Albert C White, Jr.; her son Edward Nelson Freeze; and her siblings, Wayne S. Handy, Samuel E Handy and Anne Handy Alverson.

She is survived by: her former spouse Thomas Nelson Freeze; her son Thomas Wayne Freeze (Anne H. Freeze) of Danville; her granddaughters, Martha Anne Adkins (Roger) and Elizabeth Michel (Jason) of Danville; her great grandchildren, Anne Rylee Adkins, Owen Adkins and Devin Michel; and her stepsons, Albert C. White, III of Lynchburg and Stuart L. White of Danville. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Moffett Memorial Baptist Church.
