It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Madalu Simmons Wright (Danville, Virginia), who passed away on February 15, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Will Simmons and Lula Lunsford Simmons; her husband Joe Griffin Wright, Sr.; and her daughter-in-law Sherri Wright. She is survived by: her children, LuAnn W. Martin (Donald) of Roxboro, NC, Joe Wright, Jr. (Pennie) of Roxboro, NC and Wallace Wright of Semora, NC; her grandchildren, Carla Winstead (Josh), Joe "Trey" Wright, III and Connor Martin; her great grandchildren, Claire Winstead, Caitlin Winstead and Callie Winstead; her sister-in-law Judy Wright-Calloway; and her cousins, Elaine Briggs and Lou Slade.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church at 85 Pleasant Grove Church Road, Yanceyville, NC 27379.
