She was predeceased by: her parents, Spencer Dawson and Lizzie Ashby Dawson; her husband Calvin Eugene Whitt, Sr.; and her son David Whitt. She is survived by: her daughter Brenda Thompson (Robert Keith) of Danville, VA; her brothers, Calvin "Gene" Whitt, Jr. (Nancy) of Chapel Hill, NC. and Mike Whitt (Tammy); and her niece Doris Scott.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Danville Memorial Gardens (510 Church Ave, Danville, VA 24541).
