He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Thompson McKinney and Bruce James McKinney; and his wife Cathy Payne McKinney. He is survived by: his children, Matthew Neal McKinney (Kimberly) and Dr. Beth McKinney; and his grandchildren, Riley Grace McKinney and Cooper Neal McKinney.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Highland Burial Park (N Main St, Danville, VA 24540).
