She was predeceased by: her parents, G. Maury Slaughter, Sr. and Mary Lee Cook Slaughter; and her brother G. Maury Slaughter Jr.. She is survived by: her children, William "Gene" (Amanda White), Martha (Jim Kelley), Carrie (Scott Frisbie) and Elizabeth (Allen Eanes); her sister-in-law Linda Slaughter; and her sisters, Elizabeth (Dennis Tait) and Anne (Michael Strader). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shermont Baptist Church.
