He was predeceased by: his brothers, Andrew Smith and Jermay Smith; and his sister-in-law Tabatha Holloway. He is survived by: his parents, Melvin Wayne Lovelace of Danville and Doris Elaine Smith Lee; his wife Shermaine Smith; his children, Melik Smith, Taviyon Smith and Galia Smith; his stepfather Sherman Douglas Lee; and his siblings, Latoya Jordan (Patrick), Samantha Wilborne (Ryan), Shellie Williams (Travis) and Marvin Lovelace. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
