We are sad to announce that, on October 4, 2022, at the age of 70, Michael Wayne Atkins of Danville, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Atkins and Lois Layton Atkins; and his sister Cynthia Caldwell. He is survived by: his children, Katherine Salmon (Brian), Brandon Atkins (Katherine Urbanski), Jeff Atkins (Jessica) and Wesley Atkins (Weslei); his grandchildren, Carrington, Austin, Aaron, Alexis and Evelyn; and his sister Linda Hughes.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
