She was predeceased by: her parents, Virginia Brumfield McDowell and Clarence McDowell; her husband Harold Chaney; and her sister Carolyn Chatman. She is survived by: her daughter Robin Meador (David) of Blue Ridge, Virginia; her brother Wayne McDowell; her granddaughters, Rachel Brumfield (Jeremy) and Emily Meador; and her great grandchild Landon Powell.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Danville Memorial Gardens (510 Church Ave, Danville, VA 24541).
