He was predeceased by: his wife Lois Moore Major; his parents, Artie Edward Major and Essie Captola Martin Major; and his sisters, Gloria Major and Dorothy Major Fitzgerald (Alton Patrick Fitzgerald).
He is survived by: his daughter Kimberly Major Jackson; his granddaughter Kristina Marie Jackson (Jerod); his great grandchildren, Liaria and Gio Jackson-Caligiuri; his niece Anne Fitzgerald Atkins (late Wyman Atkins Jr.); his great-niece Cheri; his nephew Ronald Patrick Fitzgerald (late Jeannine T. Fitzgerald); his great-nephew Steven; and his nephews, Mike, Jerry (Diana) and Jack Hawes (Sharolyn).
