He is survived by: his wife Betty Jo Johnson Brumfield; his children, Dr. Jay Christopher Brumfield (Sharon) of Westfield, NJ and Dr. Heather LaMere Greenfield (Adam Greenfield) of Oldsmar, FL; his granddaughter Lauren Emily Brumfield of Boston, MA; his stepgrandchildren, Harrison Greenfield of Oldsmar, FL and Serenity Greenfield of Oldsmar, FL; his half-sister Barbara B. Kelly of Morrison, CO; and his stepmother Giselle Hutchinson of Houston, TX..

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to God's Pit Crew, 2499 North Main Street, Danville, VA 24540, or the Danville Life Saving Crew, 202 Christopher Lane, Danville, VA 24541.
