He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph William Overby and Attlane Clark Overby; his grandson Timothy Wayne Overby; and his siblings, Dennis Overby, Gloria May Snoke and Betty Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Charles Richard Overby (Faith) of Danville, VA, Joyce Ann Mitchem of Danville, VA and Kimberly Dawn Walker (Mark); and his sister Cheryl Clay (Billy). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
