We are sad to announce that, on October 8, 2021, at the age of 64, Richard Layne Touchstone (Danville, Virginia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jackie Freeman Touchstone and Edward Sims Touchstone; and his siblings, Milton Wayne Touchstone, Desmond Lee Touchstone, Morgan Freeman Touchstone and Martha Ellen Touchstone Badgett.

He is survived by: his former wives, Ann Robertson and Dolly Jane Buck; his children, Lemuel Touchstone (Stephanie), Richard Touchstone II (Michael), Brad Bowers, Grace Touchstone Davis (Tyler) and Katrina Jones (Matthew); and his brother Edward Sims Touchstone Jr.. He is also survived by 10 grand – children.

“In loving memory of Richard Layne Touchstone, Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Touch was a light in my life while living across the street from my parents in 1999. He was such an amazing man and when I called him in tears to meet at my mother’s house to gain entry as she was not responding to calls, he was right by my side, gained entry, declared my mother deceased and handled the entire situation with such compassion and dignity. I will never forget him.”
