He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Owen and Audrey McSherry. He is survived by: his wife Melinda Gayle Olive of Yanceyville, N. C.; his son Mark (Wolf) of Danville; his grandson Jason Cisneros-McSherry of Denver; his sister Susanne McSherry Rea; his brother-in-law George; his brother Jackson McSherry; and his sisters-in-law, Glenda and Nancy Olive. He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews and 16 great nieces and nephews.
