He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Alice Rose Slusher of Waukesha, Clara Ruth Slusher of Madison, Barbara Ann Slusher of Ames, Robert Claude Slusher of Fall River, Ernest Wayne Sowder of Roanoke, Kenneth Edwin Manuel (Tamera) of Sedalia, Timothy Andrew Manuel (Vickie) of Missoula, Montana, Daniel Dean Humbert (Allison) of Troutville, Virginia, Donald Alan Humbert (Tracy) of Troutville, Phyllis Diane Brown White (Michael) of Monroe and Lois Ann Brown Hefner (Jeffrey) of Sugar Hill, Georgia.
He requested that tax deductible remembrances which will be used to protect and defend the civil rights of all citizens be mailed to the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation, 125 Broad Street, 18th Floor, New York, New York 10004-2400.
