He is survived by: his wife Peggy Sue Fleenor Oakes; his daughters, Cathy Evans (Edward) of Danville, VA and Susan Oakes of Winston Salem, NC; and his granddaughters, Lori Henderson (Rodney) and Crystal Loomis (Brian).
