He was predeceased by: his parents, Acie B. Brooks, Sr. and Patty Saunders Brooks; and his brother Acie B. Brooks, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Rudder Brooks; his children, Ronda Jane Brooks Stanley (Kent), Ronald "Saunders" Brooks, Jr. (Wendy) and Hassell Viccellio (Vic); his grandchildren, Christan Parrish, Catie Parrish, Gray Parrish, Anna Brooks, Karington Brooks, Ella Brooks, Katelyn Brooks and Carter Brooks; and his great grandchildren, Luke Cusumano, Cade Shively and Ashton Shively. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
