He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Oscar Paul, Sr. and Fanny Bell Wilson Paul; his daughter Becky Richardson; and his siblings, Elizabeth Adams, Willie Paul, Jr. and Johnny Paul.

He is survived by: his wife Rebecca "Pat" Perkins Paul; his children, Roy Paul, Jr. and Susan P. Gauldin; and his brothers, Raymond Paul and James Paul. He is also survived by five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
