She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Henry Davis and Myrtle Edith Deering-Davis; her husband Albert Lee Carter; her children, Dorry Oleather Carter, Barry Edward Carter, Loretta Carter and Allen Lee Carter; and her brothers, Edward Kenneth Davis and Clyde Wayne Davis.

She is survived by: her children, Deborah Harris (James), Linda Hampton (Grady), Maurice Carter (Vanessa) and Brian Carter (Pamela); and her brothers, Vernon "Jack" Davis and Willie "Skeeter" Joe Davis. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
