She was predeceased by: her parents, Janie A. Mitchell and Robert B. Adkins; her siblings, Alice Worley and Robert Adkins, Jr.; and her daughter Beth Layne.

She is survived by: her husband Ossie J. Walker, Jr.; her children, Myra Burgess (Charles) of Eden and Rodney Walker (Donna) of Ruffin; her grandchildren, Brad Burgess (Tanya) of Eden, Michael Griggs (Paige) of Ruffin and Diane Willard of Danville; her great grandchildren, Brook Forrest (Mikey) of Eden, Scottie Burgess of Eden, Meagan, Andy Miller of Virginia, Aubrie Griggs of Ruffin and Sedarian Willard of Danville; and her great great grandchild Naomi Forrest of Eden.
