He is survived by: his wife Sarah Walton Welch; his son Scott McBride (Allyson); his great grandchild Tessa; his son-in-law Steve Brown; Susie and Kim.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel (5858 Riverside Dr, Danville, VA 24541). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Oakland Community Church (180 Snakepath Rd, Blairs, VA 24527). A burial was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at the Oakland Community Church Cemetery (180 Snakepath Rd, Blairs, VA 24527).
